Job summary

Opaa! Food Management is seeking a dependable kitchen helper to prepare breakfast and/or lunch offerings, assist with serving lines, and participate in catering functions. You will perform multiple kitchen duties, maintain clean work areas, and ensure meals meet the required temperatures and presentation standards.

The role supports daily meal service in a school dining environment, following Opaa! recipes and HACCP guidelines, and contributing to smooth cafeteria operations and excellent

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or up to one month related experience/training/education
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos; write simple correspondence
• Ability to present information clearly to customers and staff
• Basic math for portions, counts, and recipes
• Ability to follow recipes and HACCP/food safety practices

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up of serving lines and ensure all food is held at proper temperatures
• Prepare foods per menu and Opaa! recipes; plan and prep ahead for next day’s menus
• Operate kitchen equipment with proper certification
• Keep work areas clean and organized; maintain FIFO inventory
• Prepare baked goods and present items attractively to customers
• Batch cook to maintain quality and presentation
• Handle cash register duties and meal reconciliation tasks as needed
• Report unsafe conditions; participate in safety and training programs
