Job summary

Opaa! Food Management is seeking a motivated kitchen team member to prepare breakfast and/or lunch offerings, assist with serving lines, and participate in occasional catering functions. You will perform all kitchen positions, ensuring safety and quality in daily operations.

Responsibilities include food preparation per menu, operating kitchen equipment, and maintaining clean, organized work areas. Training and opportunities to advance in a dynamic school-food-service environment are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred; or up to one-month related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at required temperatures.
• Assist in preparation of foods per menu and Opaa! recipes; plan for next day's menus.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders and other equipment with proper certification.
• Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized; maintain FIFO stock and clean storage.
• Handle customer monies, run POS system, and complete daily paperwork.
• Report unsafe conditions and participate in safety program and required trainings.
