Sur La Table is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to inspire customers through every stage of their culinary experience. You will support chefs, engage with guests, and ensure a clean, organized kitchen environment, contributing to exceptional service and education during classes.

The role emphasizes teamwork, willingness to learn, and strong communication as you manage mise en place, food prep, and guest interactions in a fast-paced retail kitchen setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of employment.
• 1 year retail sales experience, preferred.
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience, preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Assist chefs with class execution that drives repeat visits and positive customer feedback.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized kitchen and prep areas to support smooth class operations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and sanitation regulations.
• Set up and breakdown classes, including organizing mise en place and prepping ingredients.
