Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Seasonal Kitchen Assistant to support chefs, engage with guests, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen and classroom environment. You will help run cooking classes, assist with prep, and contribute to a guest-centric experience.

The role emphasizes teamwork, food safety, and a passion for hospitality. Flexible hours and a strong focus on customer service are key aspects of this position.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older at time of employment.
• 1 year retail sales experience, preferred.
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience, preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Assist chefs with class execution that drives repeat visits and positive customer feedback.
• Deliver class revenue goals by ensuring high enrollment and positive reviews.
• Set up and breakdown of classes, including mise en place and cleaning workstations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and sanitation regulations.
• Maintain inventory levels and support store readiness; assist with restocking.
