Job summary

Sur La Table in Connecticut is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support chefs and delight guests during in-store cooking classes. In this role you will help with mise en place, prep ingredients, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment.

You will engage with guests, uphold brand standards, assist with class execution, and help drive positive customer experiences while meeting safety and sanitation requirements.

Qualifications

• 1 year retail sales experience preferred.
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent brand and create memorable experiences for customers in kitchen and on the sales floor.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive enrollment and positive feedback.
• Help with setup and breakdown of classes, prep ingredients, and maintain clean workstations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and inventory controls.
• Support store readiness and contribute to achieving sales goals.
