Job summary

Sur La Table in the United States seeks a Kitchen Assistant to support chefs, engage guests, and ensure a clean, organized kitchen during classes and events. You’ll help run class operations, assist with mise en place, and contribute to a welcoming, education-focused guest experience.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with 1 year in retail or food prep preferred, and hold a valid Food Handlers Certification. Flexible part-time hours, including nights and weekends, are available.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older at time of employment.
• 1 year of retail sales experience preferred.
• 1 year of food prep and/or kitchen operations experience preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences.
• Maintain product expertise and participate in training to support guests.
• Lead a customer-focused, Guest Obsessed culture in both kitchen and retail areas.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive enrollments and positive feedback.
• Help achieve class revenue goals through high enrollment and sales.
• Prepare mise en place, organize stations, and maintain cleanliness and order.
