Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support chefs, engage guests, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen during class operations. You’ll help ensure a positive customer experience and uphold brand standards across both kitchen and retail spaces.

The ideal candidate welcomes teamwork, shows passion for cooking, and is available to work 12–16 hours weekly, including nights and weekends. Training and a collaborative environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older at time of employment.
• 1 year retail sales experience, preferred.
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience, preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Lead a guest-obsessed culture in both the kitchen and retail sales floor.
• Assist chefs with class execution that drives repeat visits and positive customer feedback.
• Help deliver class revenue goals by ensuring high enrollment and positive reviews.
• Maintain food safety standards, sanitize dishes and equipment, and manage supplies.
