Job summary

Sur La Table in Cincinnati is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our chefs, engage guests, and help run hands-on cooking classes. You will help maintain a clean, organized kitchen and ensure a welcoming, educational experience for customers.

This role emphasizes hospitality, teamwork, and brand alignment, with responsibilities across class setup, food safety, inventory, and guest interaction. Flexibility to work 12–16 hours weekly, including nights and weekends, is essential to meet class

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 1 year retail sales experience, preferred
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience, preferred
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire loyalty.
• Lead a guest-obsessed culture in both the kitchen and retail floor to ensure exceptional customer experiences.
• Assist chefs with class execution and drive revenue through high enrollment and positive reviews.
• Maintain safety and compliance by following food safety standards, inventory controls, and SOPs.
