Job summary

Alpha is hiring a full-time on-site Lower School Teacher to guide K–3 students through app-based core learning and differentiated literacy sessions. You’ll lead morning launches, life-skills workshops, and daily routines, ensuring students reach weekly app goals with data-driven strategies.

The role emphasizes diagnosing reading gaps, staying with students through lunch and recess, and maintaining high expectations. Relocation support is provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Willing to work on-site at a campus listed above, with relocation support
• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar settings
• At least 2 years teaching reading in grades K-3, within the last 5 years
• Completed structured-literacy training: LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, Really Great Reading, or similar; or a master’s in reading or literacy
• Bachelor’s degree in any subject; a teaching certificate not required
• Comfortable spending ~90% of day guiding students through app-based learning, workshops, and campus routines
• Willing to work with all K-3 students, not only struggling readers
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning, spotting gaps and delivering targeted sequences
• Running short structured-literacy sessions with 2–4 students and diagnosing gaps
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities
• Driving students to weekly app goals with leaderboards and gamification
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, and closing with proactive plans for frustrated children
