Job summary

Alpha reimagines the school day around faster learning, stronger mentorship, and more time for students to build real-world skills. This Academic Coach role focuses on guiding K‑3 students through app-based core literacy learning, diagnosing gaps, and delivering targeted sequences.

You will stay with your students from launch to closing, using data-driven methods and structured activities to close reading gaps and reach daily goals. A six-figure impact with relocation support is offered.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years directly with children ages 4-9: coaching, teaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar settings.
• At least 2 years teaching reading in grades K-3 within last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training: LETRS, IMSE, Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, Really Great Reading, or a master's in reading or literacy.
• Bachelor's degree in any subject; a teaching certificate is not required.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Get every K-3 student to daily learning goals and close reading gaps.
• Lead short, structured-literacy sessions with 2–4 students; diagnose gaps and teach a designed sequence.
• Guide morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities for six-year-olds.
• Drive weekly app goals with school currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Stay with students through lunch, recess, and closing with a plan for each child.
