Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a Guild – Technology Support & Deployment Technician to provide technical support and deployment services for district devices and classroom technology across schools and sites. Under supervision, you will prepare, configure, deploy, replace, collect, and maintain equipment, support large-scale deployments, and ensure accurate inventory and asset records for staff and students.

This on-site role requires a high school diploma, at least one year of hardware/software

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of one year of experience supporting computer hardware or technology systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users.
• Valid Massachusetts driver's license and ability to lift equipment.
• City of Boston residency required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, configures, stages, tests, and deploys district-supported devices.
• Supports large-scale technology deployments and lifecycle initiatives.
• Installs and configures OS, applications, and device settings per standards.
• Provides technical support for hardware, software, and classroom tech.
• Coordinates distribution, collection, replacement, and relocation of equipment.
• Supports asset lifecycle activities: inventory, repair, warranty, recovery, disposal.
• Maintains records of device assignments and deployments in district systems.
• Keeps deployment staging areas and storage organized.
• Collaborates with Service Desk, Network, and school staff to resolve issues.
• Performs related duties as needed by supervisor.
