Job summary

Tooele County School District is seeking a Technology Department Help Desk Technician to support district employees with computer issues. The role includes password resets, remote imaging, and end-user support with a focus on clear communication and customer service.

Hours range 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday–Friday. Requires strong teamwork and ability to work independently, with potential field assignments and confidentiality in handling data.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Related college or technical school coursework
• College degree preferred
• CompTIA A+ certification and/or related certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and prompt support.
• Handle incoming calls, messages, emails, and walk-ins.
• Provide assistance to Staff, Students, and Parents for technology needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of district information and secure data handling.
• Strategically assign work tickets to field technicians when needed.
• Setup/image machines using SCCM/Intune or similar systems.
• Ensure district device security compliant with policies; assist investigations.
• Assist with asset management and district audits as needed.
• Manage time using work order software and track progress.
• Diagnose problems via phone communications.
• Understand and support a K-12 education environment.
• Communicate technical directions clearly over the phone.
• Occasionally work in the field or warehouse when volume is low.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
