Job summary

Leidos in Honolulu seeks a Jr. Transport Network Specialist to support NMCI/SMIT network engineering, planning, design, and evaluation of Navy components.

You will monitor transport networks and incidents to maintain service health, report outages, and create tickets for issues observed through monitoring tools. The role requires 1–2 years of relevant experience, US citizenship with DoD Secret Clearance, DoD 8570.01 IAT II certification, ITIL Foundations familiarity, and SNMP-based monitoring

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant IT/network experience or training.
• US Citizen with DoD Secret Clearance.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT II certification required prior to onboarding.
• Familiarity with ITIL best practices (ITIL Foundations).
• Experience with SNMP-based network monitoring tools.
• Experience in a data center environment and WAN/LAN transport tech.

Responsibilities

• Monitor events and incidents affecting Network Transport and service health.
• Document outage information and actions taken to respond and resolve.
• Operate Current Operations Watch for WLAN, LAN, and WAN.
• Provide timely incident reports to leadership and create trouble tickets.
• Perform initial triage and escalate as needed.
• Coordinate with vendors and WAN/BAN teams to resolve issues.
• Apply knowledge of vendor products used in the environment.
• Support Site Operations and external organizations with problem resolution.
