Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Jr. Transport Network Specialist to support the NMCI/SMIT program and perform network engineering across planning, design, and evaluation of Navy NMCI components.

The team delivers the backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services and data transport, to unify shore-based networks. The role requires monitoring WAN/LAN/WLAN transport health, incident creation, triage, and collaboration with vendors and internal teams to restore service quickly.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of prior relevant experience or training.
• US Citizen and DoD Secret Clearance.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification required prior to onboarding.
• Familiarity with ITIL foundations.
• Experience with SNMP-based network monitoring tools.
• Hands-on experience in data center environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor events and incidents affecting Network Transport and service health across the Enterprise.
• Oversee WAN/LAN/LAN transport solutions and document outage actions.
• Create trouble tickets and report incidents from monitoring tools or user reports.
• Triage critical events and escalate as needed to appropriate teams.
