Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Network Monitor Specialist to support the NMCI/SMIT program, monitoring events and outages across the Enterprise to keep Navy operations online and secure. The role requires rapid assessment, incident reporting, and escalation to leadership.

You’ll work with DoD networks (NIPR/SIPR) and data center environments while maintaining clear documentation. Strong communication skills and ITIL familiarity are essential, along with a US citizenship and DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • US Citizen and DoD Secret Clearance.
  • 8570 compliant with IAT level certification.
  • Familiarity with ITIL best practices.
  • Experience in a data center environment.
  • Hands-on experience with DoD networks (NIPR/SIPR).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor events and incidents affecting server and service health across the Enterprise.
  • Document outage information and actions taken to respond and resolve the outage.
  • Monitor multiple server solutions critical to user missions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Report incidents to leadership using internal systems.
  • Take escalations of alerts/events identified as significant.
  • Provide support to Site Operations and other external organizations for problem resolution.
  • Maintain timely response to network infrastructure alerts (5 minutes or less).
  • Keep the Critical Situation Manager apprised of incident details.
