Job summary

United Grid Solutions is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the design and construction of electrical substations, transmission lines, and energy infrastructure. You will work under supervision to perform structural analysis, develop drawings, and ensure design quality within budget and schedule.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering degree with steel/concrete design coursework and 0–2 years of electrical utility design experience, with familiarity with IBC/ASCE7/AISC/ACI 318 and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with coursework in steel and concrete design.
• 0-2 years of electrical utility design experience with increasing responsibility.
• Experience writing and providing support documentation for structural calculations.
• Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
• Familiarity with the following programs: MathCad, Tedds, LPile, FAD Tools, SP Mats, AutoCAD, Microstation.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, calculations, and prepare sketches/drawings for substation foundations and supports.
• Support structural efforts on engineering services and EPC projects.
• Deliver complete design packages (drawings, BOM, construction specs) to clients on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with design disciplines, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Ensure designs meet local, state, and federal codes and client specs.
• Review existing facilities to propose upgrades and prepare findings.
• Provide as-built and closeout support for projects.
• Visit sites and modify designs during construction as needed.
• Attend site and project meetings regularly.
