Job summary

United Grid Solutions seeks a Structural Engineer to support design and construction of electrical infrastructure including substations, greenfield stations, and transmission facilities. You will report to regional leadership and help maintain the nation’s grid while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities include structural analysis, creating drawings, and ensuring design packages meet budget, schedule, and regulatory requirements. Travel to sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with steel/concrete design coursework.
• 0–2 years of electrical utility design experience with increasing responsibility.
• Experience writing and supporting structural calculations.
• Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318.
• Knowledge of design concepts for substations, energy or transmission projects.
• Proficiency in listed software tools and MS Office.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, calculations, and sketches for supports and foundations.
• Support structural efforts on engineering services and EPC projects.
• Deliver complete design packages on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with design disciplines, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and client specifications at all phases.
• Review existing facilities for upgrades and provide recommendations.
• As-built and project closeout support.
• Visit sites and advise on construction-related engineering issues.
