Job summary

United Grid Solutions seeks a civil-structural engineer to support transmission substation projects. You will deliver safe, cost-effective engineering and design, perform responsible charge responsibilities, and manage project schedules and budgets in a billable and project-management capacity.

Responsibilities include interpreting specifications, creating civil-structural drawings, mentoring junior staff, supporting proposals, and liaising with clients and other disciplines at sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Engineering degree ABET-accredited.
• 2–4 years of civil/structural experience in electrical power delivery.
• EIT certification strongly preferred; PE license within two years.
• Regular attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve engineering and design problems.
• Plan, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and sketches.
• Create substation civil-structural drawings (foundations, steel, bus, cable).
• Interact with customers' engineers and personnel daily.
• Develop and maintain client relationships.
• Manage project schedules and budgets.
• Support proposals, cost estimates, and business development.
• Visit sites to advise on civil-structural issues during construction.
