Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer to support construction projects in coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, and subs. This role assists with estimating, budgeting, design issue resolution, and change orders, reporting to project managers and superintendents.

You will help ensure schedules are implemented, quality standards are met, and phase documentation is maintained.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology or Construction Management or Construction Technology.
Knowledge of engineering principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
Ability to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, and drawings.

Responsibilities

Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and site subcontractors.
Assist in estimating, bidding, and tracking costs to manage project budget.
Resolve and clarify design issues and field questions.
Identify and resolve field issues and change orders.
Prepare and review contracts and purchase orders using boilerplate language.
Support in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.
Ensure work aligns with quality standards and contract specifications.
Help implement project schedules and track progress against milestones.
Document project phases and maintain records of costs and specifications.
