Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an entry-level engineer to support project teams on construction sites. Reporting to a project manager and/or superintendent, you will assist in coordinating with owners, architects, and subcontractors, and help manage budgets and schedules.

You will gain exposure to safety regulations, codes, blueprints, and field operations while developing professional skills in estimating, documentation, and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology or Construction Management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and site subcontractors.
• Assist in estimating and bidding processes and track project costs.
• Resolve and clarify design issues and field changes.
• Write contracts and purchase orders using boilerplate language to document work, schedules, costs and specs.
• Participate in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.
• Ensure work is completed per quality standards and contract specifications.
