Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Full-Time Early Career Electrical Engineer for our Philadelphia, PA office, starting Summer 2027. You will support the Property & Buildings team with data collection, design development, and documentation for utility, industrial, and commercial scale projects.

Under supervision, you will assist with single line and substation design, electrical calculations, and field documentation while adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 0 to 1 year of relevant post‑education experience.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with electrical design laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Proficient communication and teamwork.
  • Proficiency with technical writing and MS Office.
  • Familiarity with discipline‑specific design software (Revit, AutoCAD, Aspen, CAPE).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data relating to substation components and equipment specifications.
  • Assist with design of single line and three line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and substation layouts.
  • Perform routine engineering functions and provide entry‑level technical assistance on design requirements and cabling strategies.
  • Verify site characteristics and provide basic technical assistance on engineering and construction procedures.
  • Develop electrical calculations for loads, feeder sizing, voltage drop, grounding, and power distribution.
  • Generate documentation using drawings, electronic systems, and site logs.
  • Comply with safety guidelines and site procedures.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Adhere to company Code of Conduct and policies.
