Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Electrical Engineer for our Philadelphia, PA office beginning Summer 2027. You will support due diligence, design, and construction documentation for utility, industrial, and commercial projects as part of our Property & Buildings team.

Under supervision, you will assist with single-line diagrams, grounding, equipment sizing, and drawings in Revit or AutoCAD. A Bachelor's in EE and internship experience, with strong writing and teamwork skills, are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and up to 1 year of post-education experience.
  • Internship or prior related work in electrical design is preferred.
  • Solid research abilities and understanding of electrical design for large capital projects.
  • Familiarity with electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, and record-keeping.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and professional writing skills.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Aspen, CAPE or similar design tools is expected.
  • Ability to work safely and adhere to company policies; occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data for substation components and procurement.
  • Support design of single line diagrams, wiring layouts, and bus arrangements.
  • Provide entry-level technical assistance on equipment sizing, cabling, and conduit design.
  • Verify site characteristics and assist with engineering, testing, and construction procedures.
  • Develop electrical calculations for loads, voltage drop, grounding, and lighting controls.
  • Generate documentation using drawings, electronic records, and field notes.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and project-specific procedures; complete training as assigned.
