Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Electrical Engineer (ESSP) for our Salt Lake City, Utah office to contribute to Power Delivery projects. You will perform electrical studies and assist in developing and troubleshooting SCADA systems for utility and industrial clients.

You will work on conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, transmission and distribution systems, with opportunities to travel to project sites and engage in multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

Must be a recent Engineering Graduate (Bachelor's Degree).
Analytical mindset with sound judgement in evaluating situations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering audiences.
Ability to work independently or in a team to meet objectives.
Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and math concepts.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical studies and/or develop and troubleshoot SCADA systems for utility and industrial/ commercial clients.
Address protective relaying, power system planning, and design studies using industry software.
Travel to project sites to test and commission networks, control schemes, and data transfers.
Write technical reports with findings, calculations, and documentation.
Assist senior engineers with risk assessment and design concept input.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including controls, procurement, and document control.
Complete training on assigned tasks and adhere to company policies.
