Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Early Career Electrical Engineer for the Power Delivery ESSP team, with opportunities in Syracuse, NY and other U.S. locations. Be involved in electrical studies, SCADA development, and protection planning across utilities and industrial clients.

The successful candidate will perform studies, support design and commissioning, and travel to project sites as needed, contributing to a growing energy advisory practice and integrated grid solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or current enrollment in an engineering program.
Analytical mindset with sound judgment for evaluating technical situations.
Strong written and verbal communication for engineering audiences.
Ability to work independently or in a team to meet objectives.
Proficiency with technical writing, office tools, and math concepts.
Willingness to travel and adhere to safety and policy standards.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical studies and develop/troubleshoot SCADA systems for clients.
Conduct power system planning, protection coordination, and feasibility analyses.
Assist design studies for grounding, insulation coordination and power quality.
Design/network RTU, relay, HMIs, PLCs, and communication paths; travel as needed.
Prepare technical reports and maintain concise documentation.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and support project execution.
