Job summary

WSP in Salt Lake City is seeking an ESSP Electrical Engineer to join our team focused on electrical studies, SCADA, and protection. You will contribute to projects spanning conventional and renewable generation, substations, and transmission systems, with exposure to diverse software tools and protective-relaying work.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in electrical/related field.
• 3–5 years of design or device configuration experience.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and permitting.
• Analytical mindset with sound judgement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Protective Relaying design, coordination, and relay settings work.
• Power System Planning studies including load flow and stability.
• Design Studies for grounding, insulation, and power quality.
• Networking/communications for RTUs and SCADA systems.
• Logic and Control systems development and testing.
• Write technical reports and project documentation.
• Support risk identification and field coordination.
• Assist with work planning and site permitting.
