Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Electrical Engineer (ESSP) for our Salt Lake City, Utah office. You will contribute to power delivery projects, performing electrical studies and developing SCADA systems for utility and industrial clients.

The role involves protective relaying, power system analyses, and network design. Travel to project sites is possible as projects require. This opportunity offers growth in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Recent engineering graduate or student pursuing engineering degree.
  • Analytical mindset with sound judgement in evaluating situations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, math principles, predictive models, and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical studies and develop/troubleshoot SCADA systems for utility and industrial clients.
  • Conduct power system studies for generation, substations, transmission and distribution.
  • Design protective relaying, coordination, and relay settings calculations; integrate with SCADA.
  • Configure RTUs, HMIs, PLCs, and network paths; travel to project sites for testing and commissioning.
  • Write technical reports and generate complete documentation.
