Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to contribute to Building Mechanical/HVAC design for data centers and facilities across the country. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team on field investigations, client interfacing, equipment sizing, and construction design packages.

The role involves developing criteria, AFDs, and P&IDs, performing design calculations, and coordinating with architectural and engineering trades under the guidance of Professional Engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural, or Fire Protection Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Desire to design building mechanical systems, including HVAC and piping.
• Proficiency in 3D CADD.
• Visa Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform field investigations and interface with clients & vendors.
• Size and select equipment and prepare construction design packages.
• Develop design criteria, Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs), and P&IDs.
• Provide system design calculations and coordinate with other trades.
• Progress from basic design tasks to more complex projects under guidance.

Skills

Desire to design building mechanicals

Proficiency in 3D CADD

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural, or Fire Protection Engineering

EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months
