Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp in Springfield, OH seeks a Journeyworker Lineworker to build, test and maintain electric power systems. Responsibilities include climbing poles, framing and setting poles, installing transformers, taking voltage readings and energizing equipment.

Requires a federally or state sanctioned apprenticeship and/or IBEW lineworker program; travel and extended hours may be needed. The role is outdoors in all weather, with safety gear provided.

Qualifications

• Completion of a federally or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship and/or IBEW program.
• Must be able to travel and work extended hours in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Trips to multiple job locations within assigned region for general construction.
• Test, frame, install, energize and maintain poles, transformers and circuits.
• Perform voltage readings and troubleshoot primary/secondary lines.
• Climb poles and work from aerial lifts or ladders in elevated positions.
• Operate hand and power tools; wear PPE and follow safety standards.
