Job summary

FirstEnergy is hiring Journeyman Linemen to build and maintain electric power systems and restore service. Workers must meet strict apprenticeship requirements, hold a Class A CDL, and pass medical exams.

The role involves field travel, climbing poles, operating cranes and lifts, and working in all weather conditions. Openings are primarily in Pennsylvania with potential relocation within the service territory.

Qualifications

• Completion of a federal or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship and/or union-sponsored line worker apprenticeship.
• Journeyman Lineman with 2+ years of hands-on electric utility experience.
• Must possess a valid Class A CDL license by start date.
• Must pass DMV medical exam by start date.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various job locations within assigned region.
• Load/unload tools and materials; set poles and equipment.
• Climb poles and work at heights; install cables and transformers.
• Perform substation switching, install meters and streetlights.
• Operate hydraulic equipment and lift equipment where certified.
