FirstEnergy Corp. seeks qualified Journeyworker Lineworkers to build and maintain electric power systems across Ohio. Roles require testing, framing, pole work, and handling live circuits in varied weather.

Travel to regional sites within Akron, Hartville, Kent, Macedonia, or Medina, OH is expected. Applicants should have completed an approved line worker apprenticeship and hold a Class A license, with DMV medical clearance and a minimum age of 18.

Qualifications

• Completion of a federal or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship with documented proof.
• Must possess a valid Class A driving permit by start date.
• DMV medical exam passed by start date.
• Minimum age 18 with HS diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various job locations within assigned region.
• Review job work requirements and provide input for the day.
• Load/unload tools and materials; assist in pole and equipment setup.
• Climb poles and work on elevated structures; install/maintain power lines.
• Test, frame, set and anchor poles; energize transformers; take voltage readings.
• Perform work in confined spaces, trenches, and with live circuits.
• Operate hydraulic and lift equipment; drive bucket/line trucks as needed.
• Provide on-the-job training to apprentices and assist foremen.
