Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking Journeyworker Lineworkers in Ohio to build and maintain electric power systems across our service territory. Responsibilities include testing, framing and setting poles, climbing poles, wiring, and restoring service to customers.

An apprenticeship and safety certifications are required. Openings are in Ohio with travel to various job locations; pre-employment screenings and ongoing safety training are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Completion of a federal or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship with approved documentation.
• Must possess a valid Class A driving permit by first day of employment.
• Must pass DMV medical exam by first day of employment.
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to wear company PPE and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work in all weather and road conditions.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various job locations within assigned region.
• Review job requirements and provide input for daily work.
• Load/unload tools and materials; operate equipment.
• Climb poles, frame/set poles, and strings/transforms lines.
• Perform voltage readings and assist with installations and repairs.
• Follow safety protocols and participate in required trainings.
