FirstEnergy Corp. is hiring Journeyworker Lineworkers to build and maintain electric power systems across Ohio locations including Akron, Hartville, Kent, Macedonia and Medina.

The role requires successful completion of an apprenticeship and involves climbing poles, testing lines, and working in various outdoor conditions. Qualifications

• Completion of a federal or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship with approved supporting documentation (e.g. IBEW Journeyworker Lineworker A Ticket).
• Must possess a valid Class A driving permit by first day of employment.
• Must have passed a DMV medical exam by first day of employment.
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various job locations within region.
• Review job work requirements and provide input for the day.
• Load/unload tools, materials and supplies to/from vehicles.
• Climb poles and install/terminate cables and cross-arms.
• Test, frame, set and energize electrical components and transformers.
