FirstEnergy is hiring Journeyworker Lineworkers to build and maintain electric power systems across Ohio. The role covers travel to multiple job locations, testing and energizing transformers, and working with live circuits in all weather conditions.

Successful candidates have completed a sanctioned lineworker apprenticeship and hold a Class A license. The position offers competitive hourly wages and union-negotiated rates, with opportunities for advancement and extensive safety training.

Qualifications

• Completion of a federal or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship with approved documentation.
• Must possess a valid Class A driving permit by first day of employment.
• Must pass a DMV medical exam by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Travel to job locations within assigned region.
• Load/unload tools and materials at crew HQ and job site.
• Test, frame, and set poles; install cross-arms and energize transformers.
• Take voltage readings and troubleshoot line problems.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces, and around live circuits.
