Job summary

FirstEnergy's Mon Power is hiring Journeyman Linemen to build, maintain and restore electric power systems across its service territory in West Virginia. This DOT-covered role requires completing a federal/state apprenticeship or IBEW program, and involves climbing poles, handling equipment, and working in all weather.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of federal/state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship or union-sponsored program.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various job locations within region.
• Test, frame and set poles; climb poles and work at heights.
• Install and maintain power lines, transformers, meters, and streetlights.
• Operate hydraulic equipment and lift platforms when certified.
• Follow safety procedures and OSHA training.
