Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking qualified Journeyman Line Workers to support our service territory in Pennsylvania. The position requires a line worker apprenticeship and a valid Class A license, with duties including pole climbing, testing, framing, and restoration of electric service.

Travel and overtime are expected, with a strong emphasis on safety and PPE usage. Openings are primarily in Pennsylvania, with potential additional locations based on needs.

Qualifications

• Completion of a federal or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship or related union apprenticeship.
• Valid Class A driving permit by first day of employment.
• DMV medical exam clearance by first day of employment.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Travel to multiple job locations within the assigned region.
• Load/unload tools, materials, and supplies.
• Climb poles and set poles, frames, and cross-arms.
• Conduct voltage readings and energize transformers.
• Operate equipment and perform substation tasks as required.
