Job summary

FirstEnergy's Potomac Edison is hiring Journeyman Linemen to build and maintain electric power systems across the service territory. The role requires apprenticeship or IBEW line worker background, outdoor work in all weather, and travel to various locations.

The starting hourly wage ranges from $47.05 to $50.41 and may be subject to bargaining agreements. Candidates must meet safety and pre-employment requirements, including drug screening and background checks.

Qualifications

• Completion of a federal or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship or equivalent (e.g., IBEW Journeyman Lineman A Ticket).
• Must possess a valid Class A driving permit by first day of employment.
• Must pass DMV medical exam by first day of employment.
• Must live within 45 minutes of assigned Service Center.

Responsibilities

• Travels to various job locations within the assigned region.
• Loads/unloads tools and materials at headquarters and job sites.
• Climbs poles and works from elevated structures; tests and sets poles; strings power lines.
