FirstEnergy Corp. is hiring qualified Journey Line Workers to support distribution across our service territory.

This DOT-classified role requires completion of a federally or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship and emphasizes safe operation, travel within region, and working outdoors in all weather. Starting pay is $51.92 per hour with a top rate of $57.96, depending on location, skills, licenses and bargaining agreements.

Qualifications

• Completion of a federal or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship with documented proof (e.g. IBEW Journeyman Lineman ticket).
• Must possess a valid Class A driving permit by first day of employment.
• Must pass DMV medical exam by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Travel to multiple job locations within the assigned region.
• Load/unload tools, materials, and equipment at crew HQ and job sites.
• Lift, carry, and handle poles, wires, and equipment in various conditions.
• Climb poles, test, frame, set/pitch poles and install cross-arms and transformers.
• Perform substation switching and energize streetlights and meters.
