Job summary

FirstEnergy seeks a Journeyworker Lineworker to build and maintain electric power systems across various job locations. You will test, frame and set poles, climb poles, and work in confined spaces, delivering reliable service to customers in all weather conditions.

The role requires an apprenticeship, a valid Class A license, and the ability to work extended hours, with training and safety as core priorities. Local travel and outdoor work are expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of a federal or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship with approved supporting documentation.
• Must possess a valid Class A driving permit by first day of employment.
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various job locations within geographical assigned region.
• Review job work requirements and provide input for daily tasks.
• Load and unload tools, materials and supplies into vehicles.
• Climb poles and work in elevated structures; test and set poles and lines.
• Install and energize transformers and take voltage readings.
• Drive safely and work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
