Job summary

FirstEnergy is hiring Journey Line Workers to support the PA service territory. The role involves building and maintaining electric power systems, testing and setting poles, climbing poles, and performing outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Required qualifications include completion of a federal/state line worker apprenticeship or IBEW program, a valid Class A permit, and pre-employment screenings. The position may require extended hours, travel, and strong safety discipline.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a federal or state sanctioned line worker apprenticeship or similar program.
• At least 2 years of hands-on electric utility or contractor experience.
• Valid Class A driving permit by start date and DMV medical exam clearance.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various job locations within assigned region for General Construction.
• Load and unload tools, materials and supplies to and from vehicles.
• Climb poles, frame and set poles, and install cross-arms.
• Test, energize, and troubleshoot lines; perform substation work as assigned.
• Operate equipment, drive safely, and observe all safety protocols.
