Job summary

Tic Inc is seeking an experienced Construction Equipment Operator to perform maintenance and repairs on roads and rights‑of‑way. You will operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment, loading materials, grading surfaces, trenching for culverts, and ensuring equipment readiness.

You will also train others in safe operation, inspect machinery for defects, and estimate resources needed for tasks, while adhering to safety and project rules in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; field experience preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Effective communication with supervision.
• Proficient with electrical, hand, power, layout and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and heavy equipment to maintain and repair roads and rights‑of‑way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads.
• Trench and install culverts and pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check fluid levels and lubrication; maintain equipment.
• Instruct/train employees in safe operation and skills.
• Inspect equipment and materials for defects.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources.
• Review subordinates' work for compliance and take corrective action.
