Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking skilled operators to perform maintenance and repairs on roads and rights-of-way using a range of construction equipment. You will load materials, grade surfaces, and ensure safe operation while adhering to project plans and timelines.

The role requires the ability to follow written and oral instructions, work in varying weather conditions, and manage equipment fluids, tools, and measurements with accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with prior field experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions; communicate effectively with management.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment to maintain and repair roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts, water pipes, and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication on equipment.
• Instruct and train others in safe operation of construction equipment and techniques.
• Inspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify defects and causes of errors.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, and materials for work activities.
• Ensure subordinate work complies with contract plans and specifications and correct deficiencies.
