Job summary

TIC_Craft is seeking a skilled operator to run heavy equipment for excavation, loading, hauling, and grading on road projects. You will operate a range of machinery, perform routine maintenance, and ensure safety compliance on site.

Applicants should be able to communicate effectively with management, follow written and oral instructions, and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred with field experience.
• Solid ability to operate heavy construction equipment safely.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions precisely.
• Proficient use of hand and power tools and basic layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and large heavy equipment on roads and right-of-way; perform maintenance and repairs.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; grade roads and spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts and water/sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication on equipment.
• May train and instruct others in safe operation and job techniques.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify defects or errors.
• Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities and determine time and materials needed.
• Review subordinate work for contract compliance and take corrective actions when needed.
