Job summary

John H. Carter Co., Inc. is seeking an IT Support Technician in Baton Rouge, LA to manage internal and client/server IT tasks, install and troubleshoot hardware/software, and support MS Windows and MS Office.

You will work with stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely communications and participate in on-call troubleshooting. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in IT, a BS in CS or related field, and experience with hardware, DNS, DHCP, AD, IIS, Exchange, TCP/IP and SharePoint.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or better in Computer Science or related field.
• High School or better.
• Demonstrated experience in detail and precise operational IT functions.
• Knowledge of computer hardware, DNS, DHCP, AD, IIS, MS Exchange, TCP/IP, SharePoint.
• 2+ years experience as an IT Support Technician.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for communication efforts internally and externally to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Schedule and complete installations, patches and upgrades.
• Perform on-the-spot client/server maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Application support and troubleshooting of MS Windows platforms.
• Provide user support in installation, setup and maintenance of MS Office Suite.
• Be part of call-out schedule for remote and on-site troubleshooting.
• Work independently in a fast-paced environment and follow company policies.
• Collaborate with development/support staff to maintain precise communications with stakeholders.
• Basic TCP/IP network troubleshooting and system installation/integration of new hardware and software.
