Job summary

TGW Systems Inc. in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide Tier 1 technical assistance to employees, manage onboarding and account setup, and help maintain a secure, productive technology environment.

You will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, install and repair desktops and laptops, configure user accounts, and support Windows and MS 365 apps. This role reports to the IT Manager and offers exposure to enterprise IT processes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent IT experience.
• 1–3 years in technical support, help desk, or IT support roles.
• Experience with Windows and MS 365.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with Active Directory and NTFS permissions.
• Experience using ticketing or service management systems is a plus.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Fundamentals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional IT support to end users in person or remotely.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and peripheral issues.
• Install, configure, and repair desktops, laptops, and equipment.
• Create, modify, and disable user accounts and permissions.
• Support Windows desktops and standard business apps.
• Assist with onboarding and workstation setup for new hires.
• Perform routine maintenance and monitoring of IT systems.
• Create and maintain user guides and knowledge articles.
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.
