Job summary

HTC Global Services is seeking an IT Support Technician in Columbia, MD to assist faculty, staff, and students with frontline IT support and classroom technology.

You will deploy workstations, handle onboarding/offboarding, and support audiovisual systems, printers, and peripherals in a collaborative environment. Teaming with experienced IT staff, you’ll maintain inventory and documentation while delivering reliable endpoint support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated knowledge or experience supporting computers, technology, or end users.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and peripherals.
• Ability to troubleshoot common computer and technology problems.
• Familiarity with Windows environments.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and follow established technical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline technical support in person, remotely, and via service requests.
• Troubleshoot Windows and macOS computers, software, user accounts, printers, peripherals, and connectivity issues.
• Set up workstations, replace equipment, and support onboarding/offboarding and office moves.
• Support classroom, conference room, and audiovisual technologies including displays, projectors, microphones, cameras, speakers, and conferencing systems.
• Perform routine equipment checks to ensure spaces are ready for use.
• Assist with software installation, device enrollment, and OS updates.
• Maintain technology inventory, workstation configurations, and documentation.
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when appropriate.
