Job summary

Sysco is seeking a hands-on IT Local Support Specialist to backstop BT support teams across workstation, laptop, mobile devices, and network equipment. You will train staff, prioritize service requests, and coordinate hardware refresh cycles while keeping systems secure and compliant.

You will serve as the local escalation contact, assist with vendor remote troubleshooting, and collaborate with senior management on ongoing upgrade projects and data backup health.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 5+ years of end-user technology support experience.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Experience supporting, installing, and configuring Order Entry applications.
• Ability to use remote support tools and provide after-hours/on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize support calls and manage tickets with updates and escalations.
• Purchase equipment and accessories from approved standards lists.
• Ensure software-hardware standards are followed per Corporate guidance.
• Contribute to policy and procedure development.
• Maintain software license compliance for installed software.
• Image workstations using standard images and maintain security policies.
• Ensure antivirus and patch compliance across client agents.
• Provide secondary on-site support and transfer knowledge to staff.
• Assist with desktop asset management and Order Entry applications.
• Support printer/copier/fax network connectivity and third-party on-site repairs.
• Assist in special projects including product evaluations and roadmaps.
• Maintain hot spare laptop/desktop inventory and train users on ticketing system.
• Dispose of old equipment with approved recycling vendors.
• Provide onsite support for devices supported by Infrastructure teams.
• Support wireless access points and VPN; provide after-hours emergency support.
