Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking an IT Local Support Specialist to assist ST support teams with end-user technology across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and printers. You will help train staff, manage service requests, and contribute to policy and procedure improvements.

You will act as the local escalation contact, participate in hardware refreshes, ensure antivirus and patch compliance, and support roadmap planning with the Sysco IT organization. Strong customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Must effectively interact with different personalities and levels of management.
• Must be self-motivated, reliable, and trustworthy.
• Must be proficient at technical troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
• Must have experience with supporting, installing, and configuring Order Entry applications.
• Must use remote support tools to troubleshoot devices remotely.
• Must be available for after hours and weekend on-call support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize support calls using the enterprise ticketing system and manage tickets with updates.
• Purchase equipment and supplies for workstations and peripherals through Corporate Purchasing.
• Ensure software and hardware standards are followed and assist in policy development.
• Maintain software license compliance for installed software.
• Image workstations using standard images and maintain system security policies.
• Ensure client agents for discovery tools, antivirus, and patch updates are current.
• Provide on-site support and knowledge transfer to the Desktop/Laptop team.
• Assist with account administration and support for Order Entry applications.
• Help with desktop hardware relocation and coordinate third-party on-site support.
• Support printers, copiers, and network devices; participate in special projects and roadmap planning.
• Maintain reliable hot spare laptops/desktops and train users on the ticketing system.
• Dispose of old equipment using approved recycling vendors.
• Provide on-site hands-on support for devices supported by Infrastructure teams.
• Provide telephone and mobile support, including voicemail and device deployment.
• Assist with VPN connectivity and mobile devices; provide after-hours emergency support.
