Job summary

T. Baker Smith is seeking an IT Services Specialist to provide broad IT support and own the preparation, deployment, maintenance, and replacement of computers for the firm’s associates.

You will work with the IT Support Manager to ensure systems run smoothly across multiple offices, with emphasis on reliability and security. The role emphasizes problem solving, collaboration with infrastructure staff, and a proactive mindset toward AI-enabled IT processes.

Qualifications

• Practical experience supporting business users and independent troubleshooting skills.
• Understand how operating systems, applications, accounts, and devices interact—and can investigate beyond the first symptom.
• Organization, communication skills, as well as thoroughness in problem solving are necessary traits.
• Experience with endpoint management, software deployment, or scripting to help improve processes that support the organization.
• Bring a security-minded approach to everyday IT work. Protect firm and client information, recognize and report suspicious activity, and help associates work securely.
• Open to using AI as part of everyday IT work and interested in finding practical ways to incorporate it. Willingness to learn, experiment with approved tools, and evaluate results critically while protecting firm and client information.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, Windows, Microsoft 365, peripheral, access, and connectivity issues.
• Prepare and deploy computers for new associates, replacements, and office needs.
• Improve standard configurations, application deployment packages, and setup documentation.
• Maintain accurate equipment records and support the full device lifecycle.
• Work with infrastructure staff on approved endpoint updates, security remediation, and technical improvements.
• Support associates onsite and remotely across multiple offices.
