Job summary

Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District is seeking a technical support specialist to assist in the daily operations of the technology services help desk. You will respond to telephone inquiries, open and close support tickets, and help troubleshoot issues affecting computer systems.

Under the Director of Technology, you will prioritize requests, assign tickets, help implement help desk strategies, train users, and participate in seminars.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalency, plus either: (A) Associate's degree in CS/IT or closely related field; OR (B) two years paid full-time or part-time equivalent experience assisting in resolving operational computer system problems; OR (C) an equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by (A) and (B) above.

Responsibilities

• Receives and responds to telephone inquiries and requests related to technology operations.
• Prepares and completes support tickets.
• Assists with troubleshooting reported problems.
• Prioritizes inquiries based on urgency.
• Assigns job tickets to staff.
• Assists in developing help desk strategies.
• Assists in training help desk users.
• Attends training seminars and workshops on help desk operations.
• Purchases technology hardware and software.
• Manages accounts and device prep for staff and students.

Education

High school diploma or equivalency plus Associate's degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or related field
