The Help Desk Assistant at Stark-State College of Technology provides level I help desk support to faculty, students, and staff using the Online Help Desk software and telephone etiquette. This federal work study student worker position assigns level II issues to the IT group and supports desk staff.

Flexibility in scheduling exists, up to 20 hours per week, with hours Monday–Thursday and convenient weekend coverage. Strong communication and a willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Enrollment in an ET/IT program or previous IT experience preferred.
• Experience with communication software and applications preferred.
• Strong telephone skills and ability to work with people.
• Good grades are a plus.

Responsabilités

• Provide level I help desk support to faculty, students, and staff using the online Help Desk software and telephone etiquette.
• Assign level II support to the appropriate IT group.
• Assist users at the Help Desk counter and over the phone.
• Maintain documentation racks; keep printers stocked with paper in open computer lab areas; assist SSC staff with projects as needed.
• Know and uphold SSC policies and procedures.
